If you were to go into a mom and pop store up there and ask to get a hotdog, what would you expect to get on that dog? Just weiner and bun?

I would think ketchup or mustard may be it on, but thats probably about it.

Yeah. That's what I assumed. Most people around here I think would expect a weiner, bun, chili, onions, and mustard. I talked to a lady at a store that said some guy threw a fit on her for her putting chili on a dog he ordered. She said he came back and kept pointing and asking what "this" was and wanting her to take it off.

A "real" hot dog should be made with chili, bun, weiner, mustard, and onions, anything else would be uncivilized.

As long as you don't put ketchup on it, that is forbidden, not my style though.

the ketchup is originally a south jersey/philly thing
i hate it
i think ketchup on a hot dog is abou as disgusting as mustard on a burger
it goes about as well together as peanut butter and tuna fish
